SQAPE Production and Safety

Producing like the industry used to

Suppose you want to use a nice smooth mortar in your next project without cement, which saves a lot of CO2 emissions. With SQAPE, it is possible!

The SQAPE technology uses secondary raw materials and additives that are patented. This makes a big difference and yet it does not. The technology used to produce geopolymer concrete is simply applicable in existing production facilities (also under licence). The workability and benefits are so great that many different applications can be realised.

The use of the SQAPE technology requires low investments and with small adjustments to existing concrete plants and factories, the technology can already be used. The practical application is also improved, speeding up the construction of various types of road pavements.

The production has several steps

  • First, the aggregates sand and gravel are put into the mixer.

  • Then mineral powders are added.

  • Water and alkali are then pumped into the mixer, after which chemical activation takes place.

  • Next the patented additives are added so that the process can be properly controlled.

  • The whole is mixed into concrete mortar, after which the aggressiveness drops immediately (almost as with ordinary concrete).

As mentioned earlier, this does not require major modifications or reconstruction of existing production facilities. Licensed production in own plants is possible.

Safety

Geopolymer concrete reacts differently from normal concrete. The use of alkalis, mineral powders and additives results in safety regulations. Research by SGS INTRON shows that producing sustainable building materials by applying the SQAPE technology does not lead to increased health risks.

Through courses at our SQAPE Academy and in additional toolboxes, employees are trained to work with our technology. The various procedures are explained in detail and it is also indicated which personal protective equipment is recommended. Various Safety Data Sheets are available.
