With its geopolymer technology, SQAPE has succeeded in developing a balanced and stable geopolymer system to produce sustainable and affordable building materials. By deploying the SQAPE geopolymer technology, building materials are produced that create added value and contribute to the sustainability of the living environment.

With the SQAPE geopolymer technology, the Portland cements are completely replaced by mineral residues, alkalis and an activator. This makes the energy-intensive cement production process redundant and the geopolymer products have an extremely low CO2 footprint. Depending on the application, the reduction in CO2 emissions compared to Portland cement can be as much as 85%.

In addition, using SQAPE geopolymer technology, a product can be made that meets customer-specific mechanical and physical properties suitable for the desired application.

The production process using the SQAPE geopolymer technique is similar to regular cementitious concrete. The same aggregates and production technology are used. The essential difference is that the products manufactured using the SQAPE geopolymer have a better environmental profile.

SQAPE is also the name of the knowledge company that invented and patented the geopolymer technology and uses it together with launching partners. The technology has been tested by SQAPE on a laboratory scale for years. The SQAPE geopolymer technology and application areas are protected by various patent applications.

SQAPE is currently targeting the Dutch and Belgian markets with a primary technology focus on unreinforced applications, both precast and in-situ. The next step is the commercial development of reinforced applications such as sewer pipes and hollow-core slabs.
